WHO WE ARE
Bumba Media is a storytelling and motion picture production company that is based in Mbabane, Eswatini.
Established in 2018, we are a Swazi owned company that is passionate about storytelling, giving expression to Swazi voices, and sharing the Swazi story with the world.
Our purpose is to ensure the inclusion of Swazi voices in the telling of the African story to share with the world, and the future, the Swazi perspective on the human life experience.

WHAT WE DO
FROM SCRIPT TO SCREEN
We develop and create content for film, TV, and online spaces.
From making award winning films and popular TV drama series, to assisting brands and organizations with their creative (visual) communication needs, we take ideas and concepts scribbled on paper and transform them into visual narratives that flourish on screen.
Our team has been in the film and TV industry for more than 15 years and has a wealth of experience writing, directing, and producing content for different contexts.

Television Commercials (TVCs)

FILM and TV
Since 2008, our team has worked on a multitude of local and international projects ranging from award winning short films to high budget TV dramas and international collaborations.
The creators of the groundbreaking and popular local TV drama series, “Ekhaya,” we aspire to develop and create content that is inspired by the Swazi world and human life experience, is suitable for a global audience, and amplifies the reimagining of the African story.
Social Development Messaging Content (SDMC)
Our formative years as filmmakers were spent working with Soul City, one of the largest health and behavior change communication organizations in Southern Africa, where we learnt the nuances, and sensitivities, of crafting visual narratives to communicate social and development goals.
Grounded in that training, we have spent the past 14 years working consistently in the development space, bringing awareness and stories of hope to audiences, and serving the development interests of organizations like UNDP, EU, Lusweti, SWAGAA, and many more.

WELILE MASUKU
CREATIVE PRODUCER
Winner of the Hoso Bunka Foundation Award, under the auspices of the internationally renowned Japan Prize, Welile is one of eSwatini’s leading Screenwriters and Producers. A trained Journalist who made screenwriting her life, Welile has been in the industry, writing screenplays and producing television content for more than 10 years. She has a wealth of experience working in the Film and TV industry in eSwatini, the Republic of South Africa and in International co-productions as Writer and Producer.
SAMKELISO NXUMALO
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Having studied film at the American University in Paris, as well as at City Varsity Multi Media School in Cape Town, Samkeliso Nxumalo has been working in the film and TV production industry for close to 15 years. Specialising in directing, and editing, he has a wealth of experience creating award winning films, and TV shows, that have been screened at international film festivals as well as broadcast on various TV channels across the Southern Africa region. In addition to his personal achievements, Samkeliso is also a sought after industry expert with a strong record of mentoring, and transferring skills to, up and coming filmmakers.
